We made it back from International Quilt Market in Houston (and a much needed mini vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama) late Friday night. The show was pretty exciting, with many new people stopping by our booth, as well as those familiar faces we love to see each time. The newest fabric line, Snow Wonderland, was very well received, even though it won’t be availabe until this spring. And the latest book, Cabin Fever, went very well. And to make a good show even better, we got the Best Single Booth award! Check out more photos here.
Our newest book, Cabin Fever, is now available. We picked it up just a few days before leaving for Houston Quilt Market. Several of the other quilt projects were done using a mix of fabrics from the newest line, Snow Wonderland, and our last fabric line, Choco-latte. Although Snow Wonderland isn’t due out in the stores until next spring, these quilts could be done in any fabrics, and there is still time to get one or two done before Christmas! Check out all the projects here.
A few projects in the book that got a lot of attention at market were Christmas Cheer and Tag You’re It, which were both done with Shiva®
Artist’s Paintstiks®. By making a stencil from freezer paper, the paint can be easily applied with a stencil brush and it looks very much like it is printed directly onto the fabric. You don’t even have to be a painter to do these, they are that easy.
So, now that Quilt Market is behind us, I’m getting back into the swing of things. The first thing I hope to complete is this website; adding more photos, finishing the pages that I couldn’t get finished before, and hopefully a way to collect emails for sending occasional updates. Keep checking back for these changes, but please be patient, as there is only one of me to keep up with all of this!
With that said, I’m headed off to my sewing machine. Maybe I can get a few minutes of stitching in before I tackle anything else. You know, I’ve just gotta create something!
Until next time.....

We’ve been extremely busy since last updating our website, as you can see! There is so much to learn about creating and implementing a websiteso please bear with us as we learn along the way.
Threads of Harmony is a book that I published and released in October, 2006 at International Quilt Market in Houston. Many of the projects feature the Harmony fabric line, which began arriving at the shops in March. The projects include a mixture of quilts, wool needlefelting, punchneedle embroidery, wool applique, and there is even a little pincushion that is a great gift for a friend, or even yourself!
Bags seem to be really popular right now and I’ve got two new patterns, Market Bags and Shop Hop Bags, that have been received very well! Each pattern includes two different sizes. The market bag is a large tote that is great for hauling everything but the kitchen sink, while the Everyday Bag is a scaled down version for, well, everyday use! The Shop Hop Bag may look small, but it is roomy enough to carry a wallet, cell phone, and the bare essentials when you go on a shopping spree, and fits right under the arm to keep everything safe. Then, the Belt Bag is a small pouch with enough room to carry a small wallet and cell phone strapped around your waist, or attach the strap to the bag to make it into a shoulder bag!
My newest book, Occasions, was completed and released in May, 2007 to complement the latest line of fabric, Choco-Latte. Although the fabric is not due in the shops until September, there are plenty of projects that could be started now, or use fabric from one of the previous lines. It is a celebration of the small occasions in life, ranging from an anniversary or graduation to seasons of the year.
In the past year, I have found myself with several of my books sold out. They are Journeys and Bits and Pieces. Although I wish that I could reprint Journeys and Bits & Pieces, it is just not possible. But, I still get requests for them, so I have begun taking projects out of each of them and developing them into individual patterns. Check out the Angels All Around, the Hollyhock Pillow, and the Hobo Bags from Journeys right now, but keep checking back for more patterns from these popular books.
And if all of that is not enough, I have several projects in my head just waiting for a chance to become actual quilts or penny rugs to include in my next book, which I hope to have out in October. But in the meantime, I’ll keep working on the website, or painting for the next fabric line, or maybe I’ll just go outside and sit with the birds for a while...
